DotTV, the registrar of Internet domain names that end in .tv instead of the traditional .com, has tapped James Ross as veep of business affairs. Ross will serve as the principal contact with the government of Tuvalu, the country that licensed its domain name to the company. Prior to joining DotTV, Ross served as senior counsel at 20th Century Fox where he handled international licensing issues and advised on trademark and copyright matters. Pasadena-based incubator Idealab recently formed DotTV. More than 150 broadcasters, including Columbia TriStar Intl. TV, have signed up to use the .tv domain name.
