Digital technology company Burst.com has tapped former Lucasfilm Games exec Douglas Glen as prexy.
San Francisco-based Burst provides proprietary software to Web sites that enable video and audio delivery.
“Burst.com’s technology has the potential to revolutionize the entertainment industry business model,” Glen said. “The broadband infrastructure is building out rapidly, and Burst.com has proprietary technology for using broadband to deliver TV-quality video and audio reliably and economically. Once consumers experience the magic of on-demand entertainment, they won’t want to go back to in-pattern programming.”
Before being appointed as prexy, Glen was on Burst.com’s board of directors and is a partner at Global Rights Fund II, an equity fund that focuses on broadband entertainment.
“Now that Burst.com has successfully launched its technology, Doug’s years of experience as a general manager in software, entertainment and technology will complement the management team enormously,” said Richard Lang, chairman and CEO.
