Jerome Williams, who at the William Morris Agency booked urban acts across the Northeastern U.S., has been named a new agent at ICM, responsible for North American booking and new talent acquisition.
At ICM, Williams will report to Steve Levine, booking the music roster into states in the South, the Midwest and all of western Canada. He will also rep several specific artists whose names ICM declined to divulge.
Williams, who joined WMA as a trainee three years ago and last year assisted Jeff Frasco in booking the Spice Girls, Hanson and Boyz to Men, was clearly surprised by the speed of the hiring.
In Los Angeles, “at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, I resigned from William Morris,” Williams said. The next day, as an ICM rep, he was meeting buyers at the Assn. of Performing Arts Presenters Conference at the New York Hilton.
