Will supervise award, publicity campaigns
Juli Goodwin has been named VP of publicity for Warner Bros. Pictures, joining the company from her post as head of publicity and promotion at Fine Line Features.
At the studio’s Burbank headquarters, she will report directly to Dawn Taubin, exec VP for domestic theatrical marketing.
In her newly created position, Goodwin will supervise the publicity creative staff, manage Academy Award and Golden Globe award campaigns, coordinate publicity campaigns for all Castle Rock Entertainment releases and act as liaison with non-film-specific press.
“Juli is an extraordinarily capable executive with outstanding press relationships and a solid management background,” Taubin said.
“Additionally, she has spearheaded some of the most impressive and resourceful awards campaigns in recent memory.”
Goodwin joined Fine Line in 1996, establishing the company’s West Coast publicity office. In 1998 she was promoted to VP of publicity and promotions and took over the day-to-day running of the publicity department along with corporate communications, award campaigns, festivals and promotions.
Among the projects she championed during her Fine Line tenure were the award-winning “Shine,” Atom Egoyan’s “The Sweet Hereafter” and Woody Allen’s “Deconstructing Harry.”
Prior to joining Fine Line, Goodwin served as director of publicity at Savoy Pictures. She began her publicity career at Clein + White.
