HOLLYWOOD — Julie Berk has been named VP of creative services for Universal Pictures.

Reporting to Dan Wolfe, senior veepee of creative advertising operations, Berk will oversee newspaper campaigns; magazine, promotional, trade and corporate ads; publicity materials; and Academy printed materials.

Berk joined Universal Pictures in 1995 as director of creative advertising. Since then, she has worked on a number of the studio’s biggest hits, including “The Mummy,” “Notting Hill,” “Erin Brockovich,” “Nutty Professor II: The Klumps” and “Bring It On.”

“Julie has been a significant member of the creative services team since she arrived, so I am pleased to be able reward her for her hard work and her dedicated service,” exec VP of marketing Edward Egan said. “We are fortunate to have someone with her talent and creativity assuming increased responsibilities for the direction of our print campaigns and materials.”

Prior to U, she spent nine years at Graphic Orb, where she worked on the print advertising campaigns for a number of U titles, including “Back to the Future,” “Schindler’s List” and “Jurassic Park.”
