Ticketing service giant Ticketmaster has expanded its international distribution capabilities with the acquisition of Quebec-based ticketer Admission Network, which also provides ticketing services for Cirque du Soleil’s North American touring productions.
Acquisition includes the Admission Network’s affiliated companies — notably Microflex, a global ticketing software solution developer that supports eight languages and operates in nine countries: Canada, the U.S., Austria, the Czech Republic, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Singapore and Hong Kong. Ticketmaster was already using the Microflex system.
Concurrently, Admission-Microflex founder Jean-Francoys Brosseau has been named exec veep–chief technology officer for Ticketmaster. Based at the company’s corporate offices in Los Angeles, Brosseau will report to Ticketmaster prexy-chief operating officer Larry Jacobson.
