Walter M. Schonfeld has been tapped prexy of Technicolor’s worldwide film group, replacing Ron Jarvis, who retired from the post in December.
Schonfeld will oversee the company’s international film processing operations, including bulk release printing and film restoration. He will also identify ways to introduce digital imaging technologies into Technicolor’s business methods.
“Walter Schonfeld is the ideal candidate to continue the growth and globalization of Technicolor,” said the company’s chief executive, Lanny Raimondo. “He offers the necessary depth and breadth of international business experience.”
The departing Jarvis, a 25-year Technicolor alum, will now serve as a consultant to the company and member of its theatrical advisory board.
Hailing from MCI WorldCom Communications, Schonfeld most recently oversaw MCI’s global business development and partnership opportunities. He also has headed up MCI’s international finance division.
