NEW YORK — Starz Encore continues to fill out its new L.A.-based original programming wing, Starz Pictures, naming Jessica Stamen director of development and Gus Avila story editor.
Stamen comes to Starz from Davis Entertainment, where she worked for two years in the film and television departments. As Starz Pictures director of development, she’ll be charged with day-to-day management of the operation’s original movie development.
Stamen “brings the perfect combination of judgment and energy at a time when we are aggressively pursuing projects for both development and production,” said Starz Pictures VP of original movies Paige Orloff, to whom Stamen will report.
Avila worked at HBO Pictures prior to joining Starz as a development assistant.
Liberty Media Group subsid Starz Encore currently encompasses 13 domestic channels and roughly 62 million pay units.
