NEW YORK — Veteran Showtime exec Pancho Mansfield has been upped to Showtime Networks senior VP of development and original programming.
Mansfield, who was most recently veep of development and original programming, will oversee Showtime Original Pictures and shepherd series from development through production. He’ll continue to supervise development and production of projects that originate from the pay cabler’s international partners.
“Pancho has been instrumental in the success that Showtime has enjoyed in its original programming area. During his six years with the company, he has become an invaluable resource,” said exec VP of original programming Mark Zakarin.
Among projects that Mansfield has overseen at Showtime are “The Outer Limits” and “Armistead Maupin’s More Tales of the City.” Upcoming projects include original pic “Noriega: God’s Favorite” and “Resurrection Blvd.”
Prior to joining Showtime in 1993 as manager of current programming, Mansfield worked in the literary division of the Artists Agency in L.A.
