SFX buys out Philly Factory

Firm promotes between 350-400 shows per year

Two days after its merger with radio-billboard behemoth Clear Channel Communications (Daily Variety, March 1), live entertainment promotion giant SFX Entertainment has announced the purchase of longtime Philadelphia-based promoter Electric Factory Concerts for an undisclosed sum.

Established in 1968 by co-founder/current topper Larry Magid, the Electric Factory firm promotes between 350-400 shows last year. Along with producing national tours from the likes of Bette Midler, the company owns Philadelphia’s Tower Theater and the Theater of Living Arts.
