NEW YORK — Patrick Quinn has been elected president of Actors Equity, replacing Ron Silver as head of the 40,000-member union. He received more than 88% of the 7,107 votes cast Saturday.
Quinn has been first veep of Actors Equity since 1988 and a member of its governing council for 23 years.
In addition to Quinn, a full slate of officers was elected including first VP Mark Zimmerman, second VP Jean-Paul Richard, third VP Alan Hall, secretary-treasurer Conrad Fowkes, eastern regional VP Arne Gundersen, central regional VP Madeleine Fallon and western regional VP Carol Swarbrick (all four incumbents).
The org also elected 17 members to serve on its governing council.
