Responding to Hollywood’s current push toward technology convergence, public relations firm Rogers & Cowan has beefed up its television division with a digital entertainment arm.
Bill Bence and Nikki Pesusich have been named veeps of the praisery’s expanded department, which counts Microsoft’s WebTV Networks and MegaChannels.com among its newest clients.
Reporting to the division’s exec VP Richard Licata, Bence and Pesusich will oversee new business development and will plan all promotional activities for companies housed within Rogers & Cowan.
The two will manage other accounts including Paramount, NBC Studios, Universal Studios Network Programming, Animal Planet, MGM Worldwide Television and Twentieth Television.
“As the entertainment industry continues its rapid evolution, we expect our team to play an increasingly important role in communicating the messages of both established and emerging players in the home entertainment industries,” said Licata.
Most recently, Bence worked as a freelance consultant to Rogers & Cowan. Before that, he served as director of HBO Pictures Publicity, steering campaigns for such films as “Stalin,” “And the Band Played On,” “The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom” and “Against the Wall.”
Prior to teaming with Rogers & Cowan in 1997, Pesusich drummed up buzz at A&E Television Networks from both its Gotham and Los Angeles offices.
Filling out the division, Fonda Berosini and Bill Brennan have been tapped managers. John Romero has been upped to associate account executive.
