MIAMI — Nickelodeon Latam will open an office in Sao Paolo, Brazil, by the end of March.
The Latino kids channel has tapped Helena Perli director of affiliate sales and country manager, effective in February. A TV vet with experience in pay and broadcast in Brazil, Perli was most recently head of programming for broadcaster TV Bandeirantes.
“This office is the next step in fully localizing our channel and is indicative of our long-term commitment to Brazil,” said Steve Grieder, senior veep and general manager of the channel.
Nick Latino launched a dedicated signal for Brazil in 1998; it now reaches 1.5 million homes.
In addition to managing affil sales, Perli will be responsible for growing the Nick brand in the market and will collaborate on communications, marketing, ad sales and administration. She will report to Rita Luque, VP of affil sales, MTV Networks Latin America.
