News Corp. said Tuesday it has appointed Marty Pompadur chairman of News Corp. Europe, responsible for analyzing, negotiating and managing the company’s investments throughout continental Europe.
Pompadur will remain an executive VP of News Corp. and a member of the company’s Executive Management Committee. His previous title was president of News Corp. Eastern and Central Europe.
“Over the past 39 years, Marty has developed one of the keenest eyes for business opportunities of any participant in the media industry,” News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch said.
Pompadur, who joined News Corp. in 1998, replaces Letizia Moratti, who left the company in September.
