Doug Moreland has been upped to senior vice president, pre-development, of Walt Disney Imagineering, and will oversee the company’s real estate pre-development strategies worldwide.
Moreland was previously vice president, development, a position to which he was promoted in 1996.
“Doug’s contribution to the growth of our business has been tremendous,” said Walt Disney Imagineering exec VP Dean Goodman. “He has been one of the key players responsible for enabling the development of many of our most critical projects, and we are fortunate to have someone with his depth of experience on our team.”
Moreland began his Disney career in 1991 as director of development for Disney Development Co., which later merged with Imagineering.
At the Mouse House, he’s led the development feasibility work for new resort destinations around the world, including Disney’s California Adventure, a second gated theme park in Anaheim to open in 2001, and the recently announced Hong Kong Disneyland, skedded for a 2005 opening.
