Jim Martin has ankled his post as exec VP and head of business operations for Fox Sports Net and FX, the company announced Tuesday.
“I made the jump from Liberty Sports to Fox to help build the national sports network we envisioned, and I’m proud to say that today’s Fox Sports Net is the successful result,” said Martin, who has no immediate plans.
Before joining Fox Sports Net as exec VP and chief operating officer in September 1996, Martin was exec VP and president, regional network operations, for Liberty Sports. In that capacity, he was responsible for overseeing and managing Liberty’s owned-and-operated regional sports nets.
Previously, Martin served as VP and chief operating officer of Liberty Media Corp. from 1991-1994. He began his career in telecommunications in 1990 as a corporate attorney for TCI.
“Jim’s tireless efforts and vast knowledge of this industry were instrumental to the creation of Fox Sports Net and to the overall success of our business,” said Jeff Shell, prexy of Fox Channels Group.
Fox Sports Net has no plans to replace Martin.
