Madonna has recently switched agencies, this time leaving CAA for UTA, which will handle all her movie-related career moves starting immediately.
Madonna, who co-stars with Rupert Everett in Lakeshore/Paramount’s John Schlesinger-helmed “The Next Best Thing,” set for March 3 release, will be repped by a team of agents at her new tenpercentery home.
“Caresse Norman will continue as Madonna’s manager in all areas,” said the singer-thesp’s Gotham-based publicist, Liz Rosenberg. “There’s no agency in place for the touring aspect of her career yet, but Caresse is dealing with that, and a decision will be made soon. … I think that Madonna is taking the movie aspect of her career very seriously, and that she’s optimistic about it.”
Madonna will have two cuts on the soundtrack to “Thing,” which will be rolled out at the end of January on the singer’s diskery, Maverick Records, with the single “American Pie” the first cut to be aired. In addition, Madonna is expected to release a solo album in the fall, according to Rosenberg.
