BERLIN — In an effort to better manage its growing global empire, German kidvid giant EM.TV & Merchandising has established an international board based in the Netherlands. EM.TV officials say the move will make general operations more effective and increase synergies between the subsidiaries.
The new board will include representatives of EM.TV’s major international subsidiaries, including EM.TV & Waverly B.V., a merchandising outfit in the Benelux countries; French licensor Tele Images Intl.; Sydney-based toon maker Yoram Gross; Israel’s Talit Prods.; and the Jim Henson Co. Cyril Speijer, CEO of EM.TV & Wavery, will head the board.
The board will coordinate pan-European deals, exploit merchandising opportunities, acquire and sell licenses and develop a group-wide corporate identity.
Since its bow on the stock market in 1997, EM.TV has become the world’s leading supplier of family and children’s programming.
