Jersey Films announced Tuesday it has promoted Pamela Abdy from veepee, production, to senior vice president of production, where she will create and develop projects.
“Pam has typified the type of resourceful person who is synonymous with Jersey’s growth,” said partners Danny DeVito, Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher.
Abdy began work at Jersey in 1995 as an intern and was hired as a receptionist later that year. After 10 months, she became assistant to DeVito and was promoted to VP three years later.
Abdy was associate producer on “Man on the Moon” and will serve in a similar capacity on “Caveman’s Valentine,” now in pre-production at Jersey Shore, the company’s specialty division.
Additionally, Jersey Films prexy Gail Lyon has left to join Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher’s Red Wagon Prods. in a similar capacity.
Lyon, who is on maternity leave, began work in at the company in 1995 as a senior vice president of production and was promoted to president in 1998. Her slot will not be filled, a spokesman said, but the company plans to hire a senior executive to work on business affairs.
