Innovative Artists has formed Innovative Artists Independent Film Division (IAI) — with former William Morris agents Nadia Redler and Michael Din as its toppers.
IAI will rep literary properties and remake rights for foreign films and completed pics looking for domestic and international distribution.
For several years, Redler partly specialized in introducing European talent and properties to Hollywood. She began her career at Triad. While at WMA she helped package such pics as “Unhook the Stars” and “She’s So Lovely.”
Redler’s clients include helmer Patrice Leconte, Nicolas Winding Refn and Carline Link.
Leconte directed the Academy Award-nominated pic “Ridicule” and last year’s Golden Globe nominee, “Girl on the Bridge.” Link directed the German pic “Beyond Silence,” also nominated for an Academy Award; and Refn’s films include “Pusher” and “Bleeder.”
Din began repping talent under Cassian Elwes at William Morris Independent. At last year’s Toronto Film fest, he helped sell such indie pics as “But I’m a Cheerleader,” “The Five Senses,” “A Room for Romeo Brass” and “The Big Kahuna.”
As packager and sales agent, Din helped on such pics as “The Fourth Floor,” “Breakfast of Champions,” “The Boondock Saints,” “Hurlyburly” and “Happy Texas.”
At William Morris, Din was involved with such talent as Jeremy Podeswa, Michael Seitzman, Jeffrey Nachmanoff, Nick Broomfield, Roger Spottiswoode, Tim and Tony Bui and Harold Becker.
