Entertainment attorney John Genga has joined the Los Angeles law firm of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker as a partner.
Formerly a partner with Troop Steuber Pasich Reddick & Tobey in Los Angeles, Genga said he hopes to expand Paul, Hasting’s litigation work in entertainment and intellectual property areas.
“In a number of capacities, Paul, Hastings has represented clients with whom I have worked, and I hope to expand the firm’s entertainment and intellectual property litigation presence with these and other clients,” he said.
“In addition, the firm’s national and international scope, as well as its high-tech and new-media intellectual property strengths, are attributes that I’m sure will be attractive to many of my clients. The synergies here seem tremendous.”
At Troop Steuber, Genga was involved in entertainment cases including a dispute last year between client Sony Pictures and MGM/UA over James Bond filmmaking rights. The studios settled out of court.
