Sidney Clifton has been promoted to director of television development at Los Angeles-based animation studio Film Roman.
Reporting to prexy of TV programming Mark Lieber, Clifton will oversee all of the company’s television development projects. Her duties will include pitching projects to network execs and prospective co-producers, and acquiring and soliciting literary properties in the live-action category.
Emphasizing Clifton’s part in development of the company’s animation slate, Lieber said, “With a solid literary background, Sidney has also been instrumental in helping us to expand our growing presence in the live-action area.”
Clifton joined Film Roman in 1998, serving first as development coordinator and then as manager of TV development. Before that, she worked as an executive assistant at Fox Sports Net and as a freelance journalist for such magazines as Essence.
