The WB has announced the promotions of two key corporate execs: Dana Schulof Abel has been upped to VP of financing and accounting, and Jody Horwitz has become VP of human resources.
Abel, who joined the WB’s finance and accounting department in 1994, will be in charge of all aspects of the network’s internal financial policies and procedures. She’ll also oversee the network’s daily financial activities, including those for primetime programming and development, Kids’ WB!, marketing and promotion, overhead, distribution, development and operations and sales accounting.
Horwitz, who became the WB’s first inhouse human resources exec two years ago, will oversee all day-to-day aspects of that department, in addition to the ongoing development of the WB’s human resources infrastructure.
Both will report to Mitch Nedick, the WB’s exec VP of finance and operations, who announced the promotions Wednesday.
Nedick called Abel’s promotion “richly deserved” and praised Horwitz as one of the Frog web’s “unsung heroes.”
Abel came to the network from Fox Broadcasting Co., where she served as director of finance for more than seven years.
Prior to joining the Warner Bros. family in 1997 as director of human resources, Horwitz was director of human resources for all West Coast subsidiaries of Turner Broadcasting System and moved to the WB in April 1998.
