DNA ‘Nets Matloff as sr. veep

Exec to o'see legal, commerce issues for Web designer

DNA Studio has tapped former Rysher Entertainment executive veep of business affairs and general counsel Jeff Matloff as senior veep of business affairs.

Matloff will oversee legal and commerce issues at the L.A.-based Web design studio, including negotiation of talent deals, client partnerships, and third-party alliances. He will also play a role in development of corporate business strategy.

Matloff will report to prexy Thomas Lakeman on legal and corporate business related issues at the studio.

“Jeff Matloff brings with him a well-deserved reputation for sound judgment, fairness and bulletproof honesty,” Lakeman said. “His thorough knowledge of intellectual property and the business of talent relationships are critical to this emerging medium.”

At Rysher, Matloff was responsible for negotiating, drafting and reviewing Internet broadcast licensing, domain name transfers, Web site development and software license agreements for television programming, among other duties.

Matloff began as an associate at Wyman, Bautzer, Rothman, Kuchel & Silbert and has held senior and upper-level-management legal and business affairs posts at TriStar Pictures, Lorimar Film Entertainment and Carolco Pictures.

DNA creates Web sites for such clients as Fox, Paramount, Warner Bros., Sony, MGM, Nickelodeon, Paramount TV, Maverick Records, Sony Music, Atlantic Records and soon-to-bow Netcaster Pop.com.
