The Directors Guild of America has announced plans for a multimillion dollar renovation of its New York headquarters.
The organization said the renovation to its West 57th Street offices in Manhattan will include technical and aesthetic upgrades to the theater and reception facilities, renovation of the exterior facade, expansion of the office and theater lobbies and overall modernization of the offices and building systems.
The union said the renovation will enable it to attract A-level tenants for office use and a possible retail component. The DGA’s membership authorized the renovation.
“This is great news for all DGA members,” said Jack Shea, DGA president. “Our newly improved building will help send the message to the entire entertainment industry that there is a growing spirit of leadership and national cooperation within the Directors Guild.”
