Dennis Davidson’s DDA recently slashed its staff, but DDA MediaTek, the 2-year-old corporate consulting and media relations affiliate specializing in new technology, is expanding while allying itself with two public relations firms.
DDA MediaTek prexy Rex Weiner has tapped Lincoln Phipps general manager and Michele Fairbank account manager.
Phipps had topped UK/LA, a talent and management firm partnered with Miles Copeland, and had worked in Paramount Pictures’ legal department. Fairbank recently worked for Mandalay Sports Action Entertainment and as a publicist with Asbury Communications.
In addition, MediaTek has joined with Maureen McFadden of Santa Barbara-based entertainment PR firm McFadden & McFadden; she will head up MediaTek’s Cannes Film Festival operations.
The company has also tapped Kristine Harlan of Harlan Associates, who will guide the production services accounts division.
DDA MediaTek’s clients consist of entertainment technology and finance firms in the U.S. and overseas, including Real Image Digital, Final Draft Software, Global Media Corp., Intl. Film Guarantors, Near North Insurance Group, Innovation TK, ClassicMovies.com, MM Media Capital Partners and Pacifica Entertainment.
MediaTek also reps the newly opened Los Angeles offices of international entertainment law firm Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, headquartered in Washington, D.C.
