Creative Planet, a cluster of Web sites aimed at entertainment biz insiders, has acquired digital film resource 2-pop.com for its content slate.
Now under the Creative Planet banner, 2-pop topper Larry Jordan will stay on as the site’s news editor and development supervisor.
Creative Planet acquired the site for an undisclosed price, which also included stock options for Jordan. Specific financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Attracting about 500,000 hits last month, 2-pop provides info on indie digital filmmaking, including interviews with entertainment professionals, Web cinema events and job postings. The site will relaunch in the next several months.
“We’re thrilled that Larry and his team at 2-pop.com have agreed to become part of the Creative Planet Network,” company chair and CEO Allen DeBovoise said. “2-pop achieves our goal of delivering the most compelling selection of content for all types of creative people involved in entertainment.”
Other sites housed within Creative Planet (which counts Frank Biondi among its board members) include f/x-based VFXPro.com, editorsnet.com, designinmotion.com, mediatechnology.com, cinematographyworld.com, tvindustry.com, directorsworld.com, and movieindustry.com, which is set to launch soon.
