VANCOUVER — Canuck CGI animation house Mainframe Entertainment has posted a loss of C$800,000 ($530,000) for its fiscal first quarter ended June 30, compared with a loss of $600,000 for the same period last year.
Revenue for the quarter was $4.2 million compared with $4.6 million a year earlier. Mainframe delivered two television episodes in the quarter, compared with 13 last year. CEO Ian Pearson said the firm’s entire production slate for fiscal 2001 consists of new television shows, which require deliveries beginning this fall. During the quarter Mainframe delivered its first direct-to-video feature film, “Casper’s Haunted Christmas,” to Harvey Entertainment.
