CAA hires Smith, Galvin for public relations posts

Former Clinton consultant joins agency

CAA has announced that communications and political consultant Wendy Smith will join the agency today as director of corporate communications.

Her responsibilities in this new position will include directing CAA’s communications strategy and its PR efforts, and she will also spearhead the agency’s relationship with CAA communications/advertising partner Shepardson Stein & Kaminsky.

Smith, who has spent 15 years in the PR field, was active on Bill Clinton’s political advance team during the ’92 campaign, later served in the Clinton White House as Special Assistant to the President, and left in 1997. She has since been special projects director at The New Yorker before recently going freelance.

Andrea Galvin, senior publicist at Sony Pictures, will also be joining the CAA communications office as senior publicist. Galvin has six years of experience in the field, including two for Miramax in New York.
