Edward Adler has been upped to Time Warner senior VP of corporate communications, the giant media conglom said Tuesday.
Adler, who will continue to report to Time Warner president Richard Parsons, will have an enhanced role in overseeing all aspects of the development and implementation of the company’s worldwide corporate communications strategy.
He has been VP of corporate communications since 1997 and serves as Time Warner’s chief spokesman. The company has been the focus of two high-profile deals recently. Earlier this month, it agreed to merge with America Online, and this week, it unveiled plans to combine Warner Music with EMI Group.
“Ed’s promotion and broadened responsibilities reflect the key role he has played as part of senior corporate management,” said Time Warner chairman-CEO Gerald Levin and Parsons, calling Adler “an integral participant in how we shape and communicate our business strategy.”
