Victory Entertainment, the new production company headed by former Viacom Enterprises prexy Michael Gerber, has slated kiddie series “The Dooley and Pals Show” as its debut project.
The 3-D animated and live-action hybrid will be produced at Disney/MGM Studios in Florida for PBS. “Dooley and Pals,” focusing on characters from outer space, bows on South Carolina PBS affil SCETV in the fall.
Already backing the new series is Disney production services VP Bob Allen.
“We’ve enjoyed being involved in the development of ‘Dooley’ and are excited about the series,” Allen said. “It’s perfect because it’s a great show for our studio tour guests.”
Also fueling Victory’s inaugural effort is newly tapped television division prexy Toby Martin and just-hired f/x and animation president Art David.
Most recently, Martin was senior veep of production and development at Viacom Enterprises. Other experience-building posts include working as entertainment general manager at Foote, Cone and Belding and serving as exec director at Hanna-Barbera Prods.
David’s career accomplishments include creating visual effects for films “Contact,” “Michael,” “Starship Troopers” and “The Matrix.” Most recently, he was prexy of post-house Wavelight Digital Images, which counts among its clients Sony Imageworks, Disney and Nickelodeon.
