MIAMI — No. 2 U.S. Spanish-lingo net Telemundo has added broadcast affils in three cities and entered cable carriage agreements in two more.
One of the affiliates, Texas’ KTLM Channel 40, covers the Harlingen-Brownsville-McAllen area, the ninth-largest Hispanic market in the country. Telemundo will be available on cable there.
Net has also signed up KCSO in Sacramento and WAR in Milwaukee, while its signal has been picked up by MediaOne Systems in Atlanta and Adelphia Cable in Buffalo, N.Y.
Telemundo is available in 63 markets and to roughly 85% of Hispanic homes in U.S. It aims to increase coverage to 90% in the next two years.
