Cabler to air live telecast, standouts, past winners

NEW YORK — Sundance Channel will present live coverage of the Sundance Film Festival during a free preview weekend Jan. 28-30.

Geoff Gilmore, co-director of the fest, will host “Sundance Film Festival: Live!” It will feature a live telecast of the fest’s closing night awards ceremony as well as news updates, interviews and event reports.

As part of the fest-themed weekend, Sundance Channel will air three 1999 fest standouts: Nancy Savoca’s “The 24 Hour Woman,” Fernando Perez’s “Life Is to Whistle” and Julien L. Goldberger’s “Trans.” The cabler will also present a selection of past fest favorites, including “Pi,” “The Spanish Prisoner” and “The Opposite of Sex.”
