Company pacts with Santucci for ani series
Looking to pounce on the primetime animation boom, Stone Stanley Prods. has inked a deal with animator Walter Santucci to develop a TV series based on his “Evil Cat” character.
The sexy, savvy feline has been featured in a series of short films that have made the rounds of animation festivals in recent years, including the “Spike & Mike” and “General Chaos: Uncensored Animation” cartoon caravans.
Series in development would find the Evil Cat working as a vigilante spy who teams up with White House vixen Socks to take on the nefarious global empire backed by the erstwhile CIA chief and commander-in-chief George Bush.
Deal was unveiled Wednesday by Stone Stanley principals Scott Stone and David Stanley and Bruce Berman of AniManagement, who will serve as a producer on the show.
“Walter has a unique style and he’s funny in the smart, hip way that works so well in animation,” said Stone.
Santucci’s other credits include animated shorts that have run on MTV, Nickelodeon and Cinemax. He’s also produced a number of animated blurbs through the commercial division of the Klasky-Csupo animation house.
