‘Sherman’ marches & ‘Force’ mobilizes

WB drama, comedy being piloted

Esai Morales (“La Bamba”), Colleen Flynn (“To Have and to Hold”) and Kathryn Erbe (“Oz”) are set to star in the CBS pilot “Sherman Oaks” from Paul Manning (“ER”).

The soaplike Warner Bros. TV drama is about the intersecting lives of three families from different economic backgrounds in the L.A. suburban area.

Separately, Jamie Luner (“Melrose Place”), Flex Alexander (“Homeboys in Outer Space”) and Joe Flanigan (“Sisters”) have been cast in the WB netlet pilot “The Force.”

Created by Lorenzo Carcaterra (“Sleepers”), “Force” is the first drama from Michigan J. Prods., the WB’s inhouse production unit. The pilot concerns a group of New York police detectives who fight crime outside the realm of conventional legal authority.

Luner plays Jennifer Grayson, the force’s lead interrogator. Alexander stars as Steve Robinson, an anti-terrorism expert. Flanigan plays a homicide specialist whose family is connected with the mob.
