Weekend anchor bumped up to full-time
Just call them the O&Os: Nancy O’Dell has officially been crowned co-anchor of the syndie magazine strip “Access Hollywood” alongside Pat O’Brien.
O’Dell has been serving as de facto co-host since the departure of original “Access” co-host Giselle Fernandez in early January. O’Dell has been with the NBC-produced show since its inception in 1996 as a reporter and weekend anchor.
“Nancy has made a major contribution to the success of ‘Access Hollywood’ to date … and we’re thrilled with the chemistry between Nancy and Pat,” said “Access” exec producer Jim Van Messel.
There’s no word yet on a replacement for O’Dell in the weekend anchor’s chair.
Prior to joining “Access,” O’Dell worked as a reporter/anchor for WTVJ Miami. She also worked as a showbiz reporter for Fox’s now-defunct tabmag “A Current Affair.” O’Dell is repped by Ken Lindner & Associates.
