Producer's D'Works deal in low seven-figure range

DreamWorks has recruited comedy vet Carol Leifer as co-exec producer of its ABC sitcom “It’s Like, You Know…”

Leifer has inked a one-year deal that also calls for her to develop new projects for the studio.

Leifer will help exec producers Peter Mehlman and Ted Harbert steer the upcoming sophomore season of “It’s Like,” which bowed to solid Nielsen numbers as a midseason entry in March.

Deal for the “Seinfeld” alum is valued in the low seven-figure range, but DreamWorks would not comment on money matters.

“Carol is one of the brightest comedy writers in the business today,” enthused DreamWorks TV chief Dan McDermott.

Sitcom solo

Leifer took a turn in front of the camera as the star and creator of the WB Network sitcom “Alright Already,” which aired in the 1997-98 season.

She spent 1993-96 as a scribe, story editor and finally co-producer of NBC’s “Seinfeld.” She has also worked as a writer-producer on such series as “The Larry Sanders Show,” “The Naked Truth” and “Almost Perfect.”

Leifer is repped by Creative Artists Agency.
