Harbert to fly to Peacock
NEW YORK — Former ABC Entertainment chairman Ted Harbert is in serious talks with NBC about a role at the likely-to-be expanded NBC Studios.
Buzz around Burbank is that Harbert, now an exec producer on the Alphabet’s “It’s Like, You Know… ,” has had several conversations in recent weeks with West Coast prexy Scott Sassa about the possibility of an NBC Studios topper position. Under one scenario being floated, Harbert would help transform NBC Studios from the successful inhouse production unit it has become into an active supplier of programming to other webs.
Ironically, NBC earlier this summer talked to UTA’s Chris Harbert — Ted’s brother — about a role at NBC Studios. The younger Harbert is under a tight contract with UTA, however.

Comedy Central shopping for G.M.
NEW YORK — New Comedy Central president Larry Divney has quietly begun to search for a general manager who would oversee both programming and marketing for the cabler.
A general manager position would create an executive level between Comedy Central’s heads of programming and marketing, positions that currently report directly to Divney.
Divney is said to be seriously considering programming chief Eileen Katz for the G.M. position, but if the Comedy Central prexy instead brought in a programming executive over her, cable sources said there’s a good chance she’d leave.
The G.M. would not only oversee programming and marketing, but also promotion. Divney is said to be eager to bring in a No. 2 with strong programming skills. Divney’s strength is more on the business side.
