Fox, affils in ad-inventory pow-wow

Fox execs huddled Wednesday with angry affils in Gotham to discuss the network’s sudden plan to take back a chunk of ad inventory. The heads of several large Fox affiliate groups, including Sinclair and Tribune, met with Larry Jacobson, president of the Fox TV Network. Fox appears to be trying to divide large-market station groups from their smaller affil brethren, who will be harder hit by the new ad plan. It’s too soon to know how talks will come out, but rumor has it affils may push for Fox to cut back its network kids lineup again in exchange for going along with Fox ad demands.
