PRAGUE — CME has entered into talks with regional channel Galaxie to act as a service provider. The move follows a showdown last week at Nova TV, when license holder Vladimir Zelezny began broadcasting the station without CME.
Galaxie, a low-budget local concern that recently won a license to broadcast in the Prague region, has been trying to increase its profile and had announced its ambition to become a rival to Nova last year.
While Nova, under Zelezny, has been broadcasting a modified schedule of programs out of Barrandov studios, CME has been searching for ways to keep its own programming going.
After airing a couple of giant-screen outdoor broadcasts in downtown Prague, CME is now working on Internet news broadcasts, which could begin Aug. 10.
