Blackstone is headed for ‘Divorce’

'Sally' vet to exec produce 20th TV syndie strip

Talkshow veteran Jill Blackstone has been tapped exec producer of Twentieth TV’s upcoming syndie strip “Divorce Court.”

The courtshow revival has been sold in 115 markets covering 85% of U.S. TV households for a fall start. The new-model “Divorce Court” will feature real litigants and a real judge, family law specialist Mablean Ephriam. Previous incarnations of the show were scripted.

Blackstone comes to “Divorce Court” after three years with “Sally Jessy Raphael,” most recently as supervising producer. She’s also worked as a producer on the “Jerry Springer” and “Rosie O’Donnell” shows.

Blackstone “has a clear vision for the unique blend of marital conflict and resolution that is at the heart of ‘Divorce Court,’ ” said Twentieth TV prexy Rick Jacobson in announcing the hire.
