ABC Banks on model for telepic

Tyra becomes 'Life Size'

Model Tyra Banks has signed to star as a doll who comes to life in the telefilm “Life Size” for ABC’s “Wonderful World of Disney” family movie showcase.

Tyro thesp Lindsay Lohan (“The Parent Trap”) will play the daughter of a widower who accidentally brings her doll to life while trying to cast a spell to resurrect her mother. Jere Burns (“Something So Right”) will co-star as the father.

The fantasy comedy, scripted by Mark Rosman and Stephanie Moore, is slated to air next season. Bill Unger will exec producer for Walt Disney TV.

Banks’ TV credits include the long-running sitcom “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and a recent guest appearance on NBC’s “Just Shoot Me.” She’ll be seen on the big screen this summer in the indie romantic comedy “Love Stinks.”

‘Flowers’ for Williams

Separately, Kelli Williams (“The Practice”) has joined Matthew Modine in the CBS telefilm “Flowers for Algernon,” based on the Daniel Keyes story.

The film, which will air next season, is about a developmentally disabled bakery worker who becomes part of a lab experiment that raises his IQ to genius status. A feature film version of the book, “Charly,” was released in 1968 and earned Cliff Robertson a best actor Oscar.

Williams, who plays Lindsay on ABC’s “The Practice,” will co-star as Alice, a young woman who is part of the team of researchers experimenting on Charly (Modine) and becomes his love interest.
