Phyllis Garr, mother of actress Teri Garr, died of natural causes Aug. 6 in Los Angeles. She was 90.
Garr, an original Radio City Rockette and the widow of actor Eddie Garr, went on to a 40-year career as a costumer in film and television. Among the early TV shows she worked on were “The Colgate Comedy Hour,” “Matinee Theatre” and “The Dinah Shore Show.”
She additionally worked on numerous features for such directors as Alfred Hitchcock, Otto Preminger and Mel Brooks.
In addition to her daughter, Teri, she is survived by two sons, four grandchildren and a sister.
Family suggests donations be made to the Actors Fund of America.
