John R. Carver

John R. Carver, a voiceover artist and former L.A. Civic Light Opera baritone, has died of diabetic complications at his home in Burbank. He was in his mid-60s.

Carver’s body was discovered in his home by friends on Aug. 13. He had apparently died two days earlier.

Carver performed in many Civic Light Opera productions, including “The Merry Widow,” “Rosalinda,” “Oklahoma” and “Zenda.”

For the past decade, he leant his voice to many local, regional and national radio and TV commercials.

Carver also appeared in the 1969 film “Paint Your Wagon.”

He is survived by his former wife and a son.
