Anthony V. Montesano, a longtime percussionist who performed regularly for New York-based festival bands, died May 5 of heart failure in New York. He was 64.

During his career, Montesano performed for political figures ranging from former President Ronald Reagan to New York City Mayor Edward Koch.

He was well-known in entertainment circles for having an encyclopedic knowledge of show business.

He is survived by his wife, a son, a brother and a granddaughter.
