Indie filmmaker Todd Hoffman (“Love Stinks”) has inked a first-look development deal with Viacom Prods.
Hoffman will work on projects for all dayparts via his Dogsmile Pictures banner.
“We are fortunate to have Todd join our ever-growing roster of creative talent,” said Viacom exec veep of creative affairs Steve Gordon. “He has an exceptional vision for creating quality entertainment.”
Hoffman is currently developing a one-hour drama pilot for CBS called “Lost Souls.” He first ventured into television last season with the unsold UPN pilot “Student Affairs.”
Before inking with Viacom, Hoffman was based at Davis Entertainment. His other feature credits include the Lloyd Bridges starrer “Meeting Daddy,” “The Settlement” and “Labor Pains,” which starred Rob Morrow, Kyra Sedgwick and Mary Tyler Moore.
Before Davis, Hoffman was veep of production at Baumgarten/Prophet Entertainment.
Deal was brokered by lawyer Leah Antonio Ketcham of Loeb and Loeb.
