Canuck comedian Tom Green, host of MTV’s “The Tom Green Show” since January, has signed a feature film pact with Touchstone Pictures. Under the terms of the deal, Green will write and act in theatrical projects for the banner.
Larry Brezner, whose MBST Prods. has a deal with Touchstone, will serve as producer on all projects. Green’s manager, Howard Lapides, will take on exec producer duties.
“Green is one of the freshest and funniest comedians to come along in years,” Walt Disney Studios chairman Joe Roth said in a statement. “He has a great sense of comedy and a style all his own.”
Lapides repped Green on the deal; Disney co-prexies Nina Jacobson and Todd Garner negotiated on behalf of the studio.
