Dukakis, Holm among celebrants
BOSTON — Celeste Holm, Elke Sommer, Leslie Caron and Olympia Dukakis will appear during the 10th anniversary movie season at the Wang Center for the Performing Arts.
Built as a movie palace in 1925, the theater brought films back to the house 10 years ago utilizing what is believed to be the largest movie screen in New England.
Hosted by local entertainment personality Frank Avruch, series will have Holm introducing “All About Eve” (1950); Sommer, “A Shot in the Dark” (1963); Caron, “An American in Paris” (1951); and Dukakis, “Moonstruck” (1987). Among other bigscreen revivals in the series are “Cleopatra” (1963) and “Dances With Wolves” (1990).
