Duo to create TV, film, Internet animation projects
Stan Lee Media Inc., the recently formed company founded by comic book publishing icon Stan Lee, has inked a partnership with India-based computer animation house Pentafour to create original animated TV, film and Internet projects.
Pentafour operates a CGI facility in Madras, India, which produces 3-D and 2-D animation, visual effects, film scanning/recording and CD-ROM software. It also operates a production studio in Los Angeles.
Stan Lee Media and Pentafour plan to use local talent to market and develop projects, including three currently in production: an internationally syndicated program, a multiplayer videogame to be played on the Internet, and an animated show to be streamed over the Internet. First project is expected to debut in the next six months.
Chief creative officer Stan Lee said one of firm’s founding missions is to export creative expertise and bring the American style of storytelling to key strategic regions internationally to build indigenous entertainment industries.
Pentafour is currently creating the 3-D animated “Sinbad: Beyond the Veil of Mists” and recently completed work on Warner Bros.’ “The King and I.” Lee co-created the superhero franchises Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four and X-Men for Marvel Enterprises.
