Sundance unveils Frontier picks
“The Works of Faith Hubley,” a survey of the work of the celebrated animator.
“Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992,” director Marc Levin’s presentation of Anna Deavere Smith’s widely seen stage work.
“Via Dolorosa,” director John Bailey’s film of David Hare’s one-man theater piece.
The Frontier section will include the following films:
“Beau Travail” (Good Work), Claire Denis’ Venice, Toronto and New York fests hit, to be released by New Yorker Films.
“El Valley Central,” James Benning’s formal vision of California farm country.
“Juan, I Forgot, I Don’t Remember,” Mexican director Juan Carlos Rulfo’s avant-garde memory piece that appeared at Montreal and To-ronto.
“Experimental Shorts,” a diverse program.
